On June 21, 2024, Mr. Andreas Bezold successfully defended his dissertation titled “Segregation-assisted deformation behavior of CoNi-base superalloys: elementary mechanisms and strengthening effects.” This outstanding work was conducted as part of the DFG Priority Program “Compositionally Complex Alloys – High Entropy Alloys (CCA-HEA)” and was awarded with distinction.

Additonally, Mr. Bezold will receive the prestigious Young Scientist Award 2024 from the German Society for Materials Science (DGM) for his exceptional achievements in the field of superalloys.

Mr. Bezold is now continuing his promising scientific career as a postdoctoral researcher at The Ohio State University in the research group of Prof. Mike Mills. There, he focuses on additively manufactured oxide dispersion-strengthened and precipitation-hardened superalloys. His research is  supported by a Feodor Lynen Fellowship.

The MSEI extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Bezold on his remarkable achievements and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
