Hydrogen analytics
In order to investigate the influence of hydrogen on various materials, it must first be inserted into the material in a controlled manner. This step is called hydrogen charging. At the chair WWI two methods for hydrogen charging are available. To quantify the absorbed hydrogen, a thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDSA) system is also available. Following each hydrogen charging, mechanical and scanning electron microscopic examinations are performed to characterize the effect of the hydrogen on the material.
