High-frequency pulsator – Zwick Roell
The most frequent failure type of mechanically stressed components is caused by material fatigue. This occurs due to cyclic loading even at statically uncritical stresses and can thus limit the use of the components.
By using the high-frequency pulsator Amsler 30 HFP 5100 from the company Zwick Roell, the fatigue strength and thus the save-life can be tested with a maximum load of 30 kN of various materials. According to DIN 50100 the fatigue strength can be characterized in the tension-, compression-, pulsating or alternating load range. For example, the fatigue strength of case-hardened piston pins in the three-point bending test, the service life of additively manufactured specimens in the tensile-threshold range, or the interactions of different types of loads and their correlation to white-etching crack development in rolling bearings can be determined by the use of different clampings. The high test-frequency also allows a high specimen throughput in the shortest possible time.
The test data is evaluated using the associated testXpert software and, in conjunction with fractographic investigations, provides information on the failure behaviour of the tested components.
